2. Processing Activities and Legal Bases

Spryker organizes a developer competition event designed to reward individual contributors and freelancers who solve technical bounties by building code or features according to provided requirements (“Spryker Quest”). Spryker processes the participants’ email address, first name, GitHub user name, company, country, and potential other information provided by a participant in order to facilitate the Spryker Quest. Spryker may need to process additional personal data from winners, e.g. for their address and/or bank details in order to award monetary prizes respectively.

This processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (performance of a contract). 

3. Recipients

Spryker may share repository-related information with GitHub. 

Spryker also may share winners’ and/or participants’ names with the audience at Spryker EXCITE.

4. Data Transfer

If Spryker transfers personal data to a third country, Spryker uses standard contractual clauses to protect the transfer.

5. Data Retention

Personal data will be deleted once not required any longer for the described purposes and there is no legal obligation to retain it.

6. Rights of a User

Data subjects have the following rights under the GDPR:

  • Right to withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7)
  • Right of access (Art. 15);
  • Right of rectification (Art. 16);
  • Right of erasure (Art. 17);
  • Right of restriction of data processing (Art. 18);
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20);
  • Right to object (Art. 21).

Without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy, every data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU Member State of his or her habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement if the data subject considers that the processing of personal data relating to him or her infringes the GDPR.
